We offer guidance and support to help transit agencies navigate through changes in policies and system operations and make decisions that will ensure the safety of operators, passengers, and the public.

For over 25 years, our team has worked with public transportation at the federal, state, and local levels to create and deliver transit industry policy guidance. We have an established, decades-old relationship working for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), where we have assisted numerous offices to develop policy guidance and resources.

What We Provide

We provide guidance through:

  • Information collection and analysis
  • White papers
  • Policy development support
  • Webinar, workshop, and training development and delivery
  • Teleconferences
  • Guidance materials (presentations, trainings, manuals, and reports)

We have supported FTA’s transition to Safety Management Systems from the beginning. We work on policy and guidance for

  • 49 CFR Part 670 (Public Transportation Safety Program)
  • 49 CFR 672 (Public Transportation Safety Certification Program)
  • 49 CFR Part 673 (Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan)
  • 49 CFR Part 674 (State Safety Oversight)

Our team has been involved in the State Safety Oversight program for over 20 years. We also provide resources and guidance to agencies that are building or changing their Agency Safety Plans to meet Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan requirements. Our expertise in these regulations has helped agencies develop the best possible plans for the safety of their operators, passengers, and the public. We also offer assistance for agencies that are now implementing and reviewing their plans during the Coronavirus 2019 public health emergency.

Transit agencies, like the vehicles they conduct, need a roadmap to follow. We are proud to deliver the resources, guidance, and assistance necessary to guide industry professionals toward achieving compliance within their operations and systems and creating safer public transportation for all.
