Technology Administrator

Boyd Caton Group, Inc. Spend your days

  • Implementing, installing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing and new technology, operating systems/applications, and web services
  • Integrating applications and services between Windows and Mac OS
  • Managing technology tools, including web applications and phone software
  • Setting up, managing, and monitoring user accounts for operating systems, applications, and web services
  • Troubleshooting issues and outages of software and individual equipment
  • Monitoring antivirus and cybersecurity systems
  • Supporting security through access controls, password resets, inventory control
  • Coordinating operating system and application upgrades for users
  • Training staff on technology systems, services, and applications  
  • Building an internal Confluence page with IT documentation, manuals, and policies
  • Providing “tier 1” support to the bcg team
  • Improving bcg’s Atlassian instance to fit current business needs
  • Creating new and managing current user guides for software applications
  • Identifying technological issues and proposing solutions
  • Developing procedures for “what-if” technology issues
  • Managing the inventory of all technology equipment, the yearly technology budget, and the computer refresh cycles
  • Creating standards for bcg software applications
  • Developing technological solutions to meet the needs of co-workers and clients
  • Modeling non-discriminatory practices in all activities
  • Managing the bcg website
  • Managing the two-factor authentication platform
  • Serving as the technology lead during monthly team meetings
  • Handling special projects designed to optimize business operations
  • Supporting technology used to generate client deliverables

Bring with you

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Business, or other field from an accredited school
  • Two-year technical school/Associate Degree in Information Science, Business or technology related field from an accredited school with a minimum of two years of work experience in a technical support with specific responsibilities for computer application, hardware, data management, and other similar tasks
  • Experience with web applications, web services, security and operating systems, and application management for a company that includes remote workers
  • Relevant experience managing current business technology and web service management, equivalent to services such as RingCentral, Jira, Google Suite, Replicon, MS Teams
  • Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence in clear and concise language
  • Ability to make oral presentations
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively with co-workers and clients
  • Ability to inspire trust while working with integrity and upholding organizational values
  • Ability to prioritize, set goals, display professionalism, and be accurate and thorough
  • Desire to demonstrate initiative by readily volunteering, undertaking self-development activities, seeking increased responsibilities, looking for and taking advantage of opportunities, asking for help, or offering to help others
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to obtain clean background check and security clearance

Location:  This is an office-based telecommutingposition.  This position is designed tobe eligible for up to full-time telecommuting, but personnel must live withinapproximately a one-hour commuting distance to Charlottesville, VA.  

No relocation package:  Must live in Charlottesville, Virginia, or the surrounding area (within approximately one-hour commuting distance to bcg’s Charlottesville office).
